So the couple married in 1878 I see.

1881 they're with Sarah's parents.  They've got Alice 1 and Maude 3mo.

1891 as DAVIES with Alice 11, Albert 9, Beatrice 2.

(Had Maude died by this time - possibly as Maud Davis aged 1, Jun qtr 1882 Bradford?)

Albert John Davis married Jessie Dodd at St Luke's Eccleshill on 2 April 1904.  Father named as William Henry Davis, deceased.  One of the witnesses was Ethel Culley.

Possible death for him in 1958 Bradford.

Albert died in 1934 he was married to Jessie Dodd & i have Sarah down as 1968 married to Sidney Butterfield.  I think you are right about Maud & Maude being the same.

Ethel was Sara Ann Culleys (Albert J Davis's mother) brothers daughter. Think that makes them cousins?

So the parents died between 1892 & 1901, i'm still unsure why Sarah was sent abroad upon her parents death? She was back by 1901 living with an uncle Albert J Culley.
