The Burnell family in Newport Pagnell c1914
« on: Tuesday 14 July 15 16:12 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am studying the four men from Crewe in Cheshire who died following the sinking of HMS Formidable in January 1915. One of the men - James Burnell - was originally from Newport Pagnell, the son of William and Sarah Ann. Does anybody have a photo of the family, of James or his brother Walter or a family gravestone photo? Any extra info would be gratefully received. Thank you.

You don't say what you do know. However, William Burnell (originally from Southam, Warwickshire) and Sarah Ann Reynolds (Great Linford, just outside N. Pagnell)) were married at Newport Pagnell on 17 May 1869. They had several children: Edward 1871, Omer or Omar 1873, Harry (probably registered as Henry) 1875, George 1879, James 1881, Minnie 1883, Nellie (probably registered as Ellen) 1886, Amos 1891 and Walter 1893.
