Beadle of Berwickshire, around 1850+

hi all,
Iv been researching my family tree and descovered a 3rd great grandfather was a beadle in berwick. I'v found him on all census forms but I'm now desperate to find out what he looked like. any ideas how I could possibly find a pic?

this may be a difficult task - but you may hit luck - because photography was in its infancy in the mid 1800's

do you think there maybe photos in the archives office? maybe with him being a prominent figure in berwick at the time

As he was a beadle at Berwick upon Tweed you will need to contact the Archive Office at Berwick - Upon - Tweed.

You may hit lucky - this year Berwick is celebrating Berwick 900 and are carrying out research on the people of Berwick over the years - try googling Berwick 900 for the events being held & you should also get contact info, which might help you.

but as I highlighted photography was not as common back then - there might be sketches/paintings
