Familysearch.Org;

Richard MANSELL Buried 18 Oct 1863, Wiltshire
Age 47, birth c 1816

I must say I got interested in this Family as Richard never appears with  them on Census.

Is that why you wanted the details?

Trish :)

Thank you so much Trish  :) :)

Yes I think it is my Richard now because he was born in 1816 in Winchcombe and they were living in Radford Semele in 1851 with their daughter Elizabeth aged 1 born Radford Semele the mother Elizabeth had no birth place.Jim found a marriage in Birmingham 1839.Another thing I have just thought of is to find the Bapt. for William James Mansell in 1864 Pewsey see if his father is Richard.

I had found that Baptism earlier but the date confused me;

WILLIAM JAMES Mansell 23 September 1866, West Thorney, Sussex
Parents RICHARD/ELIZABETH

Source Familysearch.Org

Maybe someone can look it it up to see if Fathers is recorded as deceased.

Eda?

EDITH Mansell, 21 July 1861, Saint Brides Minor, Glamorgan, Wales to RICHARD/ELIZABETH (F/S.Org)

I am a bit worried about dates.

If Richard was Buried Oct 1863 and William James Birth Reg Dec Qtr 1864 something is amiss.
So he should have been born Oct/Nov/Dec to be Reg in that Qtr

Yes I did notice the birth reg. was Dec qtr .I just thought well I have seen that before they may have registered him later.

I wonder if there is a census page for 1861St Brides could search every page for them.

So you have Edith Bapt. great thank you.Mary Ann is the only one not found.They moved around a lot so might not be same Parish Church.I still am not dead sure it is Richard but I have enjoyed the search maybe I should now send for William James cert.

Hi Trish.

If it is them they certainly did move about.I went and found Elizabeth  the first daughter in 1851 in Radford Semele this morning.

Bapt. 23/12/1849 Radford Semele Parish Church parents Richard and Elizabeth.Birth was reg. March qtr 1850.

So unless she died she should be about 11 living with them in 1861 as well.

In 1881 William was aged 19.
