If just looking for possible current location (get the feeling you are there and trying to find  ::)), picking up from Agneshill's comment on Glenbeg (mistranscriptions can creep in). There is a current map reference to Glenbeg - 1 Kenneth Street http://www.192.com/address/details/inverness/iv3+5nr/glenbeg+1/ or http://wam.highland.gov.uk/wam/propertyDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=000YBQIHLI000

Photo here too http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~brownson/images/images/kenst.jpg

Above from this other link here http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~brownson/mcbain.htm  Maybe connections with the surname Fraser? As showing on this link:

Will of John James Fraser  McBain  dated 06 May 1903
Blacksmith sometime of 1 Kenneth Street Inverness, bequeathed his estate to his wife Christina Nicol an estate valued at £2238 14s 10d

Not sure if correct really, just thoughts of where to look if you are there. Ask the locals and if you have time, as Annie mentions, check with Archives/Library etc.

Glenbeg cottage, Kenneth Street brings up two households in the 1901:

David D French and Family, a commission agent, as showing also here on this directory http://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/pageturner.cfm?id=85098100&mode=transcription

Also, Isabel Ross. Agnes has mentioned her already. I think this is also her here on this directory http://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/pageturner.cfm?id=85108310&mode=transcription. 1901 census also shows her as a lodging house keeper.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. They are really appreciated. Archibald's wife was Jessie Munro. He was an engine fitter.
We've been at the archives all afternoon and have looked at directories without success but are returning for another attempt later this week.

If you are working from local archives, can I suggest you look to the Valuation Rolls which are based on addresses. See here for a brief explanation www.nrscotland.gov.uk/research/guides/valuation-rolls or www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/content/help/index.aspx?r=554&2080

I would think you are likely looking for Glenbeg rather than Glenelg...

Just to add to Monica's suggestions.......

The Library isn't too far from Kenneth Street & could be quite useful as they may hold newspaper info/pics etc. ???

Who were the witnesses as sometimes their addresses are given, depending on the registrar.

Seems they may have been staying at the guest house & married giving that address  ???

I wonder if Archibald was working at the Railway Station  ???

Looking for Archibald Fraser, married 1896 at Glenelg Cottage, Kenneth Street, Inverness. Could it be part of  church?

Marriage 1899 rather than 1896?

:-\ Ignore my last post please.

The only marriage I can see on the index on SP between an Archibald Fraser and a J* Munro was in 1863, but in a different area of Scotland (Kiltearn, R&C).

Some children here https://familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&query=%2Bsurname%3Afraser~%20%2Bfather_givenname%3Aarchibald~%20%2Bmother_givenname%3Ajessie~%20%2Bmother_surname%3Amunro~

Likely 1901 census entry here for this group:

Archibald D Fraser 65 Railway Engine Fitter b. Resolis, rossshire
Jessie 56 b. Kiltearn, rossshire
William P Fraser 26
Margaret M Fraser 22
Hugh Mclennan 23

Address: 52 Charles Street, Inverness

All by and by...struggling to see the links you have so far to a 1896 marriage. If you can add more info...

Because I am struggling...a little more info.

The only marriage for an Archilbald in 1896 was to a Christina Matheson. However...Archibald is son to Archibald Fraser and Jessie Munro. Likely this is his birth here https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQTL-6M9

It was Christina Mathieson who showed as living at Glenbeg Cottage at the time of the 1896 marriage...
