Caroline Jane Reid
« on: Monday 20 July 15 18:53 BST (UK) »
Born in Glasgow in 1895, Caroline grew up in the family home on Scotia st. Her father David Reid who had been a chemist from Forfar was now a local Doctor. By 1911 the entire family had move south to Blackburn, England.  Its another of my Scottish Womens Hospital members. Am really just looking to find out what happened to her after the war and when she died. She served as a masseuses. And had long service in Corsica, Serbia and Greece.

Many thanks for looking.

Alan

On Scotlands People, there is a Caroline Jane Reid, who died aged 85 in 1981.       Place of death is said to be Martha St, Glasgow.      Martha Street, as you might know, is where the Registry office for births, deaths and marriages was.      It closed down a few years ago, and is now at John St.

If you could get that certificate, it would likely say who her mother and father was and probably the last address where she was living before she died.      Mind, it might not be her.     It could just be someone else with the same name, even though her age at death does just about fit in with the year of birth you gave of 1895.

Hi Alan do you have the exact birth date for Caroline Jane Reid ? if so if you search the deaths with just the first names you might be lucky ..I see the deaths for her parents and probate record but no mention of Caroline
