Do you have any other information on any other Raulin's in the records? You have no idea how much I love you for doing this. I have been trying to trace this family for a long time with no luck and now I know why. I used the wrong spelling of the name.

John's son Robert married a Susan who died 10/2/1615.
Emanuel married a Margery who died 16/11/1625. Emanuel died 6/6/1624. Their son infant John died 1/1/1616.
Let me know what else you want. Can check marriages and baptisms. Got to burials 1625, but it's midnight here and I have a class of eight year olds to face tomorrow, so should probably stop here for a bit!
Will check in here tomorrow evening 😴

Is that all you have on the Raulins family? Now I am beginning to wonder if the church had spelled SiR Edwin Rawlings as Raulins as well. Do you have anything on the VanMeter family? More specifically I am looking for a marriage between Rebecca VanMeter born about 1577 and Sir Edwin Rawlings/Raulins. And a marriage between Arthur Rawlings/Raulin born abt 1544 and Izabell Bothomly born abt 1548. I am pretty sure that marriage took place in 1569 in Yorkshire, but their may be other church records for their childrens baptisms as well. Thanks. Ed

You'd have to post on the Yorkshire board for that. I only have access to the Essex records.

I have some of the Yorkshire records where she is from, I was just wondering if there were any church records in Essex where the males are from and where their children would have been born.
I am very good at finding records here in the US because I know where and how to look. In the UK records are very different and not as many are accessible online. I really wish I knew where and how to get some of these records. For instance, Sir Edwin had a knighthood. There must be records of how, when, where, and by whom he was given that knighthood. But I have no clue how to obtain them.  Ed

Ha. The Irish records are even harder to come across!
The castle hedingham parish records only go back to 1558. Will have a hunt around surrounding parishes and see what comes up.

I really appreciate the help. By the way, some records here in the US are hard to find as well and some have long since been destroyed thanks to a little military incursion in 1812 by a certain unnamed country. And a certain hated northern civil war general who made it his goal to burn the entire southern US to the ground.  All of this is further complicated by the addition of new counties created from older larger counties along with county lines being redrawn after the civil war. For instance my family has lived on the same piece of land my 5th gr grandfather received in a land grant for his service in the Revolution in 1790. All of our old family and land records are in Chatham County NC. But now most of our land is now in Harnett County and some of it in neighboring Wake County with a tiny sliver of it still remaining in Chatham County. And we haven't moved in 226 years! LOL
