Sible Hedingham, Essex Church Records
« on: Monday 20 July 15 22:21 BST (UK) »
I am am currently transcribing the church records for St. Peter's, Sible Hedingham, Essex which I will be posting online in due course. In the meantime, if anyone is researching their family tree in this village, I may be able to provide information.
Records for Castle Hedingham have previously been posted online by someone else and I have previously posted those for Takeley and Little Canfield.
Laurie

Many thanks Laurie, I'm sure it will be of great help to many, I don't have any look ups in Sible Hedingham currently but I have found your Takeley transcripts of tremendous help on many occasions.

Although I don't have any Sible Hedingham look ups currently, who knows what a browse might turn up, so I'll be looking forward to a browse when they are completed, if that will be possible.

Regards.
Concentrating currently on:
Essex: Card, Harris, Stowell, Theobald/Tibbles & Turner.
Norfolk: Beale, Cork & Dalton.
Yorkshire: Oswald Sturdy birth/baptism c1708, Oswald where the devil are you?

Hi Laurie

We have family from that area: Davey/Davy family and Grubb. Have you come across any of these in your travels?

Many thanks

Hi Laurie.  That's a great job you're doing.  I am looking for a birth record for Alice Mary Broyd who was born in 1887. Census records show that she was born in Gestingthorpe but I have been to the church and they have no record of her birth.  By the 1891 census, she was living in Sible Hedingham so I wonder whether her birth was registered there or maybe she was baptised there.  If you come across her, I'd love to know. There were many Broyds in Sible Hedingham but most are unrelated to my Gestingthorpe branch.
Keep up the good work!

Sue

How far back do the records go that you are transcribing? I am looking for any documents pertaining to my 11th gr Grandfather Sir Edwin Rawlings b 1568 in Castle Hedingham or his father Arthur Rawlinge b 1544 also born in Castle Hedingham. Thanks

No Edward Rawlins baptised at castle hedingham around that time. Records start in 1558.
Jamiesons, Martins and McGonigals of Coleraine, Londonderry
and
Cullens, Grahams and Challenors of Dublin county and city.
