The marriage in 1910 lists him as James Arthur Kemp.

On England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 there is a James Arthur Kemp born 26 Dec 1880 at Bodle Street, Sussex - Parents Timothy and Marie Kemp??

This looks like a possible family in 1881 living in Wartling, Sussex with the eldest children born at Mayfield.  All children except Mary J born Wartling

By 1891 it looks like both parents  have died in 1885 in Tonbridge Reg District and possibly the elder daughter Mary Jane and other children - from FreeBMD

I think the boys Timothy, James A and John R were living as orphans at an institute in Leominster, Herefordshire - Birthplaces listed as Cowbeach Kent -  RG12 Piece 2072 Folio 83 Page 32
