Essex Assizes records held at TNA Kew
« on: Wednesday 22 July 15 10:07 BST (UK) »
I can find the reference number at TNA for the records I'd like to see, but I don't know how much detail I might find. I really need to know the birth date of Ishmael Cutter who received the death penalty for housebreaking at the Lent Assizes 1815. There is a newspaper report covering the event, but this dosent say whether or not if the death penalty was carried out, I believe that criminals were buried within the prison grounds (Chelmesford?) do any records exist for this? Any help much appreciated. Carolmc in Somerset

Are you sure the Essex Record Office doesn't have a copy
