Wilson Family
« on: Thursday 23 July 15 21:57 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if anyone could help me locate the mother and any siblings of William George Wilson?
On his marriage certificate to Barbara Joyce Miller in Exeter 1946, he is listed  as being 25, living in Heavitree working as an A.B for Royal Navy and was the son of William Wilson, retired R.N.
I believe William George was born on the 26th October 1920 i found a death record online from 1993.

Any help would be muchly appreciated x

Have you looked up his birth on freebmd which will give you his mothers maiden name.  You can then look for other Wilson births with that maiden name

Using his mothers maiden name plus freebmd you can look for his parents marriage which will give you his mothers christian name

If they married before 1911 they should be on the 1911 unless his father was at sea at that time

If they married after 1911 you will have to search for them individually

The witnesses were Kenneth Wilson and Esther (and what looks like) Westall. Ive tried searching for Kenneth Wilson as he is most probably a relative but again i dont know where they were born or even when?

Were any children born to the 1946 marriage?  If so - can't they help with any info re: his birthplace etc?

The marriage was March qtr 1946 so if he was 25 at that time it fits with an October 1920 birthdate

There are no William G Wilson births in the December qtr 1920 and only 2 in the March qtr 1921 if his birth was registered after Christmas 1920 - mothers maiden names Barnfather & Llewellyn

William J Wilson married Susan Barnfather June qtr 1920 Carlisle but no William Wilson marriage to a Llewellyn

First off thank you Carole for your help :)

He only had one child who died a few years ago and his granddaughter doesnt know much about him.. i asked a few family memebers but they seemed to know nothing? didnt even know if he was still alive or not!
I did see Barnfather and wondered if that would be correct..

This is the most difficult tree ive come accross yet!  :-[

I checked Scotlands People and whilst there are some 89 entries for William Wilson born 1920 - there are none for William George

A VERY tenuous possibility found on FS

Unfortunately, his death cert won't give you the type of info you are looking for
