Robert Jones
« on: Thursday 23 July 15 22:19 BST (UK) »
I must admit that I don't have a lot on this one.First of all my relatives appear in the 1851 Census as on here in the Parish of Rhosymedre Denbighshire.HO107/2503/136/31.It is the Robert nJones son given as born in 1843 that is of interest.First of all I am wondering whether this is the same Robert Jones who re-appears in Caernarvonshire in 1881?RG11/5564/255/5

He is showing in 1881 as a widower and with two children,Robert born c 1875 and a Margaret J given as born in 1877.Ideally of course I would like to pinpoint his marriage.

In general though this is a particularly difficult family for me.They are not together as such after 1851.

Regards
William Russell Jones.

Trying to identify Robert's wife's name I looked  at baptisms in the parish of Llandwrog where Robert and Margaret J are listed as born in 1881

I did find a baptism of a Margaret Ellen Jones on 23 May 1878 with parents Robert and  Jane??
Robert is listed as a quarry man and their address is School House.   A different family is living at the School House in the village in 1881   Just a thought :-\

Thanks Kay,its going to be very difficult to find Robert's marriage? As far as possible Births for the children,North Wales BMD throws up multiple possibilities for the both of them. There are also possible "Civil Marriages" of interest.

It's a wet day so I have been working through the parish records for Llandwrog  and female burials between 1877 and 1881 and trying to rule them out.  However there are so many Jones who seem to disappear between census years  ::)

Edit - the most likely candidate is a Jane Jones who was buried on 12 June 1878 age 28 at Llandwrog.  Her address is listed as Pencilan

The Jane Jones is a possible, there being an earlier Robert Jones/Jane Hughes marriage again given as a "Civil Marriage" on North Wales BMD.
