Timothy Clifford  Morrissey, who I think dealt in horses married a girl named Mary O/Connell. They had a daughter Mary Morrissey  in Stradbally  Queens County in 1864. She is my great grandmother. Can anyone tell me anything about her parents? if anyone is researching her I
have much to tell them

Hi There PWH

Can you please confirm where you got her parent's names from ?

Also, can you clarify, is it help with her Laois roots that you are looking for or is it her later life's information that you wish to impart to others researching her ?

If it's help with her Laois roots then can you tell us what you already have and then we can take it from there !

Tara

Tara
I saw her parents names on one of the public member trees, but I had seen these names
in information provided by a relative before that. The fact that she was born in1864 coincided
with the general time frame when birth, death and marriage records began to be properly
recorded in Ireland. I have actually been to Stadbally. Local people knew of the family but I was
unable to find exact records for her. She was probably registered there  but maybe not born
there. That is the basic problem with Irish research. I have  a great  deal of  detailed  information
on Mary Morrissey  and her  links with my  Hart family  heritage. Anyone who has a family
interest through Mary would learn a great deal.

Hi There

I know Stradbally well !

If she was born there, she would have been baptised there yet IF she was born after 1864 then her birth would have been registered in Portlaoise (Maryborough) or Abbeyleix, either was in close proximity.

IF she was RC then her baptism should show up on these records or for any siblings.

Given though that you've no confirmed paperwork to back up this lady's parentage I shall let you work away at this yourself.

Best of Luck

Tara
