Hi sancti,dad's dob is 16/11/21.he has no middle name on his birth certificate.

I asked the girl in brown street if she could narrow the search to place of birth(glasgow) and she couldn't,she could only do a general search for all British army soldiers.

Yes he definately enlisted,he was a brickies labourer.

His first name was James.as far as I'm aware he joined up with his brother john.i applied for John's records a few weeks ago and recieved them in the post three weeks ago,John enlisted in February 1939 and if dad enlisted at the same time he would have been 17,he would have been18 in november 39.
