William John James
« on: Sunday 26 July 15 15:26 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I am after any info on my GGF William John James born 1884-1886 England, went to Canada when small possibly a home boy, his  parents were John William James, and Mary James.
His first marriage was possibly in Canada, his wife died, as when he was in England during the ww1, he married my GGM in 1917 stating he was a widow. I dont have a place of birth or emigration info
he stayed in England.

I don't have any D.O.B for him just a year.

Anything would be greatfully received. :)

OK.
Do you have his actual 2nd marriage cert? Does it give an occupation for his father?

Notice on another message board post William John James was a  Sapper in the 5th Canadian Engineers, stationed at Whitley Camp, Surrey 1917. Can't see a record for him with those birth years in the Canadian Expeditionary Force  Service Files of the First World War, 1914-1918.

Hi,

Yes Williams father was John William James, and says he was a sailor in the Merchant Service, deceased in 1917, when William got married, i mean already deceased in 1917

There is a special section on RootsChat for registering the names of British Home Children - have you added William John James to that list - it might help you. You can read about it here :-
