I can't see any marriage in England and Wales - to 2005 - with those two surnames.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

No we could not either,  does Scotland come under England and Wales or is there a separate search for Scottish registrations as they may have married in Scotland.   many thx for looking 👍🏻

Hi ,
They were married 1974 Paisley Renfrewshire -- you will have to either order a copy of the certificate at a cost of £12 or go to NRH Edinburgh or Mitchell Library Glasgow  to view .

You can only download marriage certificates until 1938/39 I think

Hi,
I got it from the site that ev posted above . It is a site for researching all BMD etc. in Scotland only
it is a pay as you view site .I did a bit of playing around on it and came up with the information.
You should have a read through there website it may help you if you ever have to research in Scotland.
Up to certain dates you can view and download all certs . don't have to wait on them coming weeks later by post .
As far as I'm concerned and I have researched in quite a few countries it is one of the cheapest and best to use.
Good Luck with the rest of your research.

does Scotland come under England and Wales

No, absolutely not!

Scotland has its own registration system for BMDs which is much better than the England/Wales one because you get more information on each type of certificate.

You can also view older certificates immediately online, and the cost is far less than buying an English/Welsh certificate.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
