Wellington Family
« on: Monday 27 July 15 12:55 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have anything on TACY FORWARD (1761-1826) who married JOHN FRUMER BENNETT (1757-1834) in Wellington 8/8/1784.
I'm looking for their parents in the Wellington/West Buckland area, as I can only calculate their birth year from the age of death.

Any help very much appreciated!

Have you looked in Surname Interests (in Your Tools, below) to see if anyone is researching either family?

Thank you for your reply, I've just had another look and the SITs refer to places other than Somerset - but I'll keep looking. I suspect the name Tacy/Tacey is of Quaker origin, so I will explore that line.
Many thanks for your interest.

FreeREG has some Baptisms etc iin Wellington and Bruton but not your Tacy/Taceys
FreeREG also has the Marriage as Tacey Forward/John Frume (sojourner)

It may be worth keeping an eye on FreeREG as new records are being added all the time
www.freereg.org.uk

You may also use the soundex option as name is down as Furward/Foreward/Forward

Trish :)

Thank you Trish, you have confirmed what I have on my tree, which is always a 'plus' !

I have the 1784 marriage for John Frumer Bennett/Tacey Forward, and the births/baptisms for the children you mentioned - plus Elizabeth (1794), Tacey (1800) & John (1803) Bennett. The vicar certainly had a busy day on that Sunday 26th August.
I will try FreeReg again and use the 'soundex' option - thanks for that advice. I was hopeful that an unusual name such as Tacey would be easy to find - no such luck, and Mallory completely disappears after 1792.

Thanks for your interest and help. Much appreciated!
