I did find a Thomas Britton baptised 14 Sep 1804 in Wokingham, Berks. Parents were Thomas John and Lydia Britton. There was also a Thomas Britton, aged 40, sentenced to 6 months for "larceny by servant" at Berkshire County Sessions in January 1847. The same person?

I would guess that Thomas had been married before meeting up with Frances, so I would expect to find an earlier marriage. But as I said this is pure guess work.
