I don't currently have a Theobald/Tibbles link to Great Wigborough but what I have on my "to do" list is research a Theobald family at not too far way Stanway near Colchester, so I'm wondering if your Gt Wigborough Theobalds might have a connection to Stanway?
My earliest known ancestor is John Tibbles (Theobald) who married Elizabeth French in 1774 at Chelmsford Essex, so far I haven't found either of those two people.
On Free Reg I found John Theobald bap 17 Apr 1748 at St Albrights Stanway of John & Mary Theobald, John had a sister Susan baptised same place 19 Feb 1751.
The fact that John and Elizabeth Tibbles named a daughter Susan could indicate that possibly the John Theobald baptised 1748 at Stanway is the John Tibbles who married Elizabeth French at Chelmsford, time will tell.
Over the years years my family name went through gradual changes until 1850 when it was first recorded as Theobald.
