Warwick Family
« on: Thursday 30 July 15 22:55 BST (UK) »
Hello, I am trying to trace my Warwick family, names include Christopher from abt 1791, to Frederick Albert 1860.  I believe the family were involved in various trades, decorating, inn-keeping and shoe-making perhaps.

I would be grateful for any information, thank you. Layra

Frederick looks to be the son of Christopher and Mary.

In 1871 Christopher is 42 a decorator and Hansen painter.  5 sons 2 daughters.

Yes, that is my Frederick, he appears to have been the one to move the family from Yorkshire to Lancashire as you see he died in Bolton, Lancs. He was my great-Grandfather, his son Edwin being my Granddad then the next Frederick Albert was my Dad.

It gets a bit complicated going on from the 1860 F.A.  I cannot find a certificate for his birth and may have been he wasn't registered, and without that I cannot confirm his parentage.

Thank you for the help

Yes I see what you mean about no birth registration  :(

I would say there's a good chance he was the one in 1871 son of Christopher as the names repeat (there was a son Edwin and a son Christopher) but understand you want to be sure.

Have you got the marriage certificate for Frederick and Lucy?  That would give his father and there may have been Warwick witnesses.

Hello, yes I do have the certificate for FA & Lucy Briggs, father is given as Christopher Warwick but the witnesses are John & Alice Birchall.  Christopher is logged as a Decorator Painter.  June 10th 1881.

We have reason to believe that Christopher was married twice, his first wife having died.  Almost forgot to add, Christopher's Father is John Warwick shoemaker on the certificate for him and Hannah - if indeed this is my Christopher and his second marriage.

Thank you x
