Joseph FAIRWEATHER marriage
« on: Saturday 01 August 15 20:38 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I am trying to find the marriage between my 5th Gt Grandparents...

He is Joseph Fairweather, b1794, in Clacton and he was married to Sarah? as per 1841 census.
They had 8 children by 1841; first born in 1823.

Unfortunately, I can not find their marriage or her maiden name.

There is a marriage of a Joseph Fairweather to Elizabeth Smith on 07 Mar 1817 in Gt Clacton as per FreeReg.  Firstly, and the obvious one, the names of the two ladies are different, and secondly there appears to be 5-6 years between this marriage and first born child of my Joseph.

Would anybody be kind enough to help me attempt to solve this?

Cheers in advance.

Lee

Hi Lee

I suspect that Elizabeth was his first wife.

There was baptism (FreeREG) at St John's, Gt Clacton on 23/07/1820 of a Sarah Ann FAIRWETHER (sic). Parents Joseph and Elizabeth.

Thank you very much to both of you for help, very much appreciated.
I think I'm going to have to purchase the BC... and do some more digging on Elizabeth!

Cheers again.
