This birth notice >

http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz

"Colonist" (Nelson) - 21 March 1862 - page 2 - Births

THOMPSON - ...  18 March at Waimea South .. the wife of C. THOMPSON, a son.

NZ Birth Index (online)

1862 - THOMPSON - Charles
Parents:  Ann and Charles
[Date of birth - deduced from online index = 13 March 1862  ... note that birth notice gives "18 " March  (could be a "typo" in newspaper ? ) ]
-----------

As this birth occurred in Nelson region, makes it more likely perhaps that Ann BURNS was the woman who arrived on the "Midlothian"  1859 and seemingly disembarked at Nelson ?

Dear Lu, that is really interesting as there was a son mentioned on the Death Certificate who was 32 when she died.  I will follow all this up.    Thank you so much, regards, Claudia
