I have bit a brick wall and wonder if anyone can help - I have a John Davison (Davidson) born about 1760-1770 in the Brampton area but I can't work out which of the many Davison/Davidsons he belongs to. There are a couple of possible baptisms in Stapleton with the father being also John but no mother's name. My John ends up in South Shields by 1790 and lives there for the rest of his life. From the names of his children I guess that his parents were John and Margaret. Is anyone else researching these families and if so, has anyone more information about a possible marriage between a John Davison and a Margaret around 1760 or so in that area?....
