Sorry, the spelling of Legnatraw was wrong. The Census of Matthew you have is the wrong family. Jane's father is Matthew Ferguson 1816-1907 from Lisnakelly, Limavady. Matthews' father is William Ferguson 1780-1852 from Keenaught, Newtownlimavady.

Well if you had posted the link others wouldn't have to go looking for it....  sorry if it's wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you post information you need to be accurate .

"The 1901 Census shows' that Jane McKinley and three of her children were living at Legnatraw. Her status is married, so I take it her husband is still alive on the day of the census. They are Presbyterians. Her father is living with her, a Matthew Ferguson who was born abt 1816 in Limavady."
The 1901 census actually shows Jane McKinlay & 2 children, father Matthew shown as visitor-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Donegal/St__Johnston/Legnatraw/1196923/
The house and building form shows Thomas McKinley as head of household-

An obvious place to look- have you checked for a death registration? Won't give you a place of burial but will give you details needed to order the certificates.

I have also been looking at the McKinleys, as part of my Fergusons of Limavady research.

Thomas McKinley and Jane Ferguson's daughter Alice McRae McKinley married Robert Edward Alexander (family from Imlick, County Londonderry) on 20 September 1906 at the Presbyterian church in St Johnston. They emigrated to New Zealand in 1909 and her husband was Director of Canterbury Agricultural College from 1909-1936, and Professor when that office was created.  In his NZ Who's Who entry, it states that his wife was a daughter of Thomas McKinley of Bulawayo, Rhodesia, so it looks like the parents went to Africa. Unfortunately,I can't find any other evidence to corroborate this.
