Is this my elusive Gt. Gt. Uncle
« on: Tuesday 04 August 15 22:11 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I have been trying for some time now to find my elusive Gt. Gt. Uncle Duncan Murdoch McLeod. He was born in 1975 in Liverpool. I have posted about him before.
However I have found on Ancestry someone that might be him but I have no way of confirming it at the moment. I have tried to contact the owner of the tree but have been unsuccessful.

The tree states that:
Duncan was married to Lucy Allen who was born in Erith, Kent. (I can't find a marriage)
Lucy appears on 1901 census as a visitor in Sydenham, Lewisham. Occupation, Hospital sick nurse.
(Duncan was an in patient in Hospital in Farnborough at this time)
They had 3 sons, the eldest was Duncan A McLeod born 21 June 1907 Romford Essex,
Vol. 4a Pg. 558 (I don't have access to any baptism records)
Duncan emigrated to Spokane, Washington either in 1907 or 1908.
Duncan died 14 June 1937.
I will be very grateful if someone could prove or disprove that this is my elusive Gt. Gt. Uncle.

Thank you in anticipation

Michelle

Lucy Allen and Duncan McLeod were both married Sept Q 1904 Rochford reg district (Kent).  Can't guarantee they married each other, but looks very likely.  (from Freebmd)

Cross post! but at least we agree.

You could buy the wedding cert for £9.25 from GRO and it would tell you the name of Duncan's father and his occupation, (also Duncan's occupation and age).  Would that tie him in with what you know about your gt grandfather?

His naturalisation record gives a birth date of 11th June 1874, so not him? (Unless there are 2 of them in Spokane)
