Holyhead marriages in Late 1700s
« on: Saturday 08 August 15 13:26 BST (UK) »
I'm not sure whether anyone can actually access these, but I'm afraid its quite a vague request. I wonder if, anytime during the period from 1775 to 1800, there is a record of a marriage in Holyhead of a lady from Llanddeiniolen in Caernarfonshire. The first name would be Catherine, Alice or Jane and the surname would be Owen or Pritchard.
Its following a lead found in an ancestor's diary.
Owen , Parry , Pritchard, Foulkes  o Llanddeiniolen
Jones, Bellis o Sir Fflint
Williams o Beaumaris
Chambers o Dulyn
Rowlands o Tywyn

Hello,

Don't know if this helps or not...

Found a marriage on 26 Feb 1774 between a Jane Owen from Caernarvonshire (Llanbeblig) and a William Prichard from Aberffraw in the Anglesey Church marriages records for 1754-1812 at Aberffraw. Witnesses Owen Jones and Hugh Evans

Unfortunately I can't see any other marriages on Anglesey in that period involving those names, and any other non-Anglesey parishes.

Thank you - you may well be right. My g-grandfather wrote the history of the family down around 130 years ago, referring to a period around 110 years previously. He might well not really have known where in Anglesey the relative have gone. This looks quite promising, though, as the father of one of the three ladies I refer to spent some time as a shoemaker in Caernarfon.
