I was just looking at a baptism for Thomas son of John Burniston of Quarry Hill, born 8 Feb 1812 baptised 1 Sept 1812   

Hmmm.  That's a bit worryingly close.

Just checked and there is also a Susanna Burniston baptised 1810 daughter of John, Quarry Hill - does this help rule Thomas 1812 out?

I see there is an 1855 death for a Thomas Burniston of Leeds, Yks so perhaps the similarity of names is just coincidental.
