Andrew Whelan born about 1800 +/- 5 years?
« on: Sunday 09 August 15 00:14 BST (UK) »
Hi. This is my first day and my first questions.  I have managed to trace my family back to my 4x great grandparents in Ireland but I have now hit the information 'wall'.  I am at present looking for information about my 4x great grandfather Andrew Whelan (1800?) who married Bridget (surname and DOB not known) in or near Dublin?  They had a son Laurence in about 1823. A census puts them as living in Great Britain St (Parnell St), Dublin in 1823.  Is there any one out there who may have come across this ancestor of mine whilst putting together their own tree?
Can anyone also tell me how does one go about 'hunting' in the 18th century and what are the best Irish sites to do this?
Thank you and waiting in great anticipation, faeolin.
