Eatons of Market Drayton
« on: Wednesday 12 August 15 18:31 BST (UK) »
In his will James Eltham (b Market Drayton abt 1744, died London 1811) left bequests to Elizabeth Reynolds daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Reynolds of MD and James Eaton Reynolds of Seighford Staffordshire. I have found the marriage of Thomas Reynolds (of the Parish of St Pancras ) and Elizabeth Eaton (of MD) taking place in MD and the baptism of James Eaton Reynolds parent Thos and Eliz in London in 1763. I have marriage and death of James Eaton Reynolds in Seighford and some entries on electoral register for a few years prior to his death.

The query is why did James leave considerable bequests to these two children? I cannot find that they were related to him. As Elizabeth Eaton was from MD, I assume the link was through her.
James left similar bequests to some nephews and nieces who I have sorted out, but he states the relationship in this case in his will.

Can anyone shed any light on this, please?
