very confused about the malens
« on: Wednesday 12 August 15 20:59 BST (UK) »
hi i am trying to find out about my great great great grandmother holy davis born 1848 in dudley she married a  joseph mallen 1864 in tipton. she then moved to liverpool and had a daughtercalled elisa mallen in west derby which can be verified by birth certificate. then she moved  back to birmingham and was listed in 1871 as helen we think !!!! we then have no records for her until 1891or 1901 where we think she was holliann rooney prmirose hill Worcestershire. this is confirmed as her because she has some of her children fro joseph with her  in 1891, we also have eliza who married john henry smith had her farther living with them in 1891 . did they divorce  i wondering . thanks

Divorce at that time was for the rich.  More likely they just lived separately.   Were any children born between 1871-1881?

According to a tree on ancestry Theodosia died in 1883 and the informant on her death certificate was Holery Mallen. Holery Mallen, formerly Davies, was also the name on Eliza's birth certificate 1869.
Where do you get a marriage date of 1864 for Joseph and Holery/Holly/Helen?  I can't find anything on FreeBMD

Found it then lost it again  :)
