I would say Royal Artillery. Can you do a higher quality scan of the cap badge area?

I would agree, the bandolier suggests a mounted soldier, probably a driver pulling guns etc, with horses.

Good evening,

Can't make out the badge but it's not Artillery. Not wide enough across the bottom.

Not ASC or Engineers either so cavalry or infantry mounted battalion would be good.

As an ex-Gunner I beg to differ and am sure it is a Royal Artillery badge.  It may have been bent, curving the ends of the lower scroll back, as has been a fashion at times.  The bandolier and lanyard both fit with RA.

I have to say that eve before I read the replies that I would have put my money on the Royal Artillery looking at the badge lanyard and bandolier.

Good evening,

I have to disagree, I don't think this is a bent artillery badge. Also, as has been pointed out before many times on this forum. The artillery were not the only regt to wear landyards. Nor were they the only ones to wear bandoliers.

Seeing these items seem to automatically prove it to be artillery, but it doesn't.
