In the will of James Eltham (b Market Drayton and d Old Street, St Luke's Middx 1811) he left many bequests, among them were tidy sums to the Glover sisters of Market Drayton. They were Sarah, Ann and Mary. By the time the will was written, Mary had married and was Mary Jones. Ann married Alexander Leak in MD a couple of years after she got her inheritance, Sarah remained a spinster. In Sarah Glover's will she leaves bequests to Ann Leak (her sister) and Ann Leak's children Alexander Piozzi Leak and Mary Ann Leak (her nephew and niece). She also leaves a bequest to the son of Mary Jones (her other nephew).
Alexander Leak snr was from Wales according to marriage record. His son, Alexander Piozzi Leak was born in 1816 in Streatham, married in 1849 in Market Drayton, and was living in Over, Cheshire in 1861, 71 and 81. His mother Ann was a widow by 1851 and spinster daughter Mary Ann was living with her in 1851 and 61.
What I am missing is
death of Alexander Leak snr.
Birth baptism of the daughter Mary Ann Leak - census records say 1821 in Market Drayton, but no sign in MD baptisms unless mistranscribed horribly. Found it as Leek (like vegetable) in 1817.
Any of the family in 1841.
Alexander Piozzi Leak became a doctor of medicine, so I suspect he might not be with his parents / mother in 1841, but training somewhere.
The Glover sisters were baptised in MD, daughters of Richard, mother not mentioned.
Can anyone find the marriage of Richard (there is a likely burial in MD of a Richard Glover in 1799, which gives year of birth as 1744).
I'm also missing the baptism of Sarah, from death record it should be about 1774.
