Baptised in two counties??
« on: Friday 14 August 15 02:33 BST (UK) »
On March 4, 1834, Farrell Lynch was baptised in West Meath and in Cavan! How is this possible?
Info from rootsireland.ie.

I would think it unlikely that there were two people named Farrell Lynch baptised the same day in two different counties!!

Has anyone run into this before?
In the 1881 and 1861 census from Scotland, he says he was born in Ireland.
In the 1871 census, he states he was born in Co Cavan

Do I go with the Cavan one?

It doesn't look like the name Farrell Lynch is uncommon in Ireland. It would be more uncommon in Scotland. I think I would go with as much Scottish information as you can get about your man.

You didn't say the parish but I'm guessing this is him

The Parish of Kilbride and Mountnugent is described as Counties Westmeath, Meath and Cavan. As it straddles the borders of all three.
