Caton Graveyard
« on: Saturday 15 August 15 20:35 BST (UK) »
I have found a site, the "Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society", with a list of interments for St Paul the Parish Church of Caton with Littledale.  On the list is a Hugh Miller of Sunderland, Co Durham, the father in law of the Rev Samuel Bell of that parish who is also buried in the same graveyard along with two of his children and his wife.  Infuriatingly, by his name it says Image pending SPB /C/3/5

Would anyone know where I could get hold of a copy of the inscription on the stone for Hugh Miller?
Thank you.

Have you tried emailing them to ask?

Thank you for that suggestion.  I hadn't as it was quite an old site and none of the links worked but, prompted by you, I went back on it and looked again.  I see all the information has been transferred to the Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society which looks very active.  I'll send them an e-mail.  Thanks.

They have the booklets on lots of parishes in Lancashire in their shop for under a fiver including postage, including Caton.  I have now ordered it.  Thanks for your interest.

Hi,

I'm so sorry I didn't read this earlier, as I can look up the contents of most LFHHS booklets in the local library.

Let me know if the burial is the right one, if so I can go out to Caton one weekend and take a photo of the heastone for you.
