Sidney Crook
« on: Sunday 16 August 15 17:38 BST (UK) »
For those  of you who have read this type of request from before I apologize. I am trying to find out more about Sidney Crook. He was born in Thetford Norfolk in 1894 and emigrated to the States in 1926. I am particularly trying to prove he served in WW1. I think I have traced his children and their families through other means but I can't definitely prove any of it. I was wondering if any one can help further or id their any new members of the forum who might know something.

Thanks

Paul Crook

Could you put a link to your previous relevant posts, so people know what has been found?

Thanks

There is census and BMD information for a Sidney born Q4 1894 son of John and Annie Elizabeth Crook, possibly married Florence Adams 1920.

There are some service records for more than one Sidney Crook (one in the Norfolk Regiment) but unfortunately none are the type that have any linking information to another family member or place.

Not very helpful I'm afraid.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Sidney Robert Crook (earlier posting) is only one of about 10 Sidney Crooks on the medal rolls.  No more detailed information (ie service or pension records) extant for any of them that I can see.
