Tarr - Mulhall marriage 1870
« on: Wednesday 19 August 15 17:49 BST (UK) »
Any info about (Margaret) Jane Mulhall, who married my gt-grandfather Joseph Tarr at St Ann Shandon, Cork City, in February 1870.  She was a 'minor' but cannot have been much under 21; her father was James Mulhall, a merchant of Audley Place.

Yes! They were my direct ancestors too. Their son Nicholas Curtis Tarr married Ada Rogers and they had Annette Tarr, my great-granny. I don't know anything about Margaret Mulhall herself though. I have a fairly extensive family tree for the Tarrs. How are you related?

My paternal grandfather was James Mulhall Tarr (1872-1933) and I have most of his tree mapped out to ~ 1800. I stumbled across the grave of his mother's parents James Mulhall and Jane Curtis from Dungarvan, but C19 Irish waters are very muddy, as we all know.  I have no idea whether Margaret had any siblings, I haven't seen any suggestion of any.

My father James C Tarr mentioned his Uncle Nick, and I think he witnessed a Dublin wedding in the 1930s.  A contact of mine used to correspond with Henry Shiels in Ireland too.  Please get in touch by PM if you want to exchange info.
