My ancestor Duncan Campbell born in Perthshire 1810-1811. In Gloucester, Barton St Michael, 1841 census, employed as an Officer of Customs, lodging with mr & Mrs J Cooper, 20 yrs. his senior, also Officer of Customs. Was Duncan learning the job? In 1861 census Duncan Campbell is Officer of Customs Locker, married to Emma and father to a daughter and 4 sons. Does A Chester relate to these?

Hi Sue,
Welcome to Rootschat  :D
Can I ask please who is A Chester?
Perhaps you could give us a wee bit more info regarding 1861 Census entry when Duncan is married and has children- for instance give us his children' s names, ages etc and tell us where Duncan is living at this time.

Looby :)
