We don't know if Francis was deceased at the time of Jane's marriage in 1840. Often FreeREG will specify things like this, but we can't be sure....

Looks like Francis was buried somewhere which hasn't been transcribed... I'm 90% sure he moved away from Sawtry to Kings Ripton, so maybe he moved on again. I've looked over the border in Cambridgeshire too.

Is anyone able to look further at Sawtry records for me? Would be good to know if Francis Titman and Sarah Redhead were baptized there.

That's brilliant Margaret, thanks for all your help

So it looks like the family moved to Kings Ripton, Francis and his wife died there, as did their children Ann and Luke. So I just need to find out what happened to Mary and Robert now...

Haven't been able to find anything definite about Mary Titman, which is a shame as she was closest in age to my 4xg-grandmother Elizabeth.

Looks like Robert moved around a bit. He's in Millbrook, Hampshire in 1881, with a son who was born in Croydon. His occupation is "army pensioner" which probably explains it. There are army records on findmypast under the name "Robert Tidman" which may be him - I'll have a look next time I'm in the library (no subscription at home).

If Francis died in 1828, Robert would have been quite young, so I wonder who took responsibility for him? If only the census from 1831 was available....
