May Family in Clonaslee
« on: Thursday 20 August 15 23:36 BST (UK) »
Looking for information about the May family in Clonaslee Queens County. My grandfather was Henry May born 1882 and his brother John born 1880. Their father is also Henry(brn 1845) and married a Sophia Milton(brn 1860), they were COI and Henry jnr converted to Catholicism before marrying my grandmother Anastasia Conroy from Mountmellick. Any further information would be appreciated.

Do you already have the 1901 and 1911 entries for the family?

Hi, thanks for the replies, I have the records from both census 1901 and 1911, also Baptism cert for Henry Jnr, he was born in Skerries in Dublin.and he joined the British army in 1900 and fought in WW1, I have his army record etc. The information I am looking for mainly is about his brother John and his parents parents. John may have married a Sarah Long in 1920 but I cannot verify it is the same John May. Again many thanks for the replies.

Here's the link to my tree on Ancestry.com if interested. http://trees.ancestry.co.uk/tree/75778932/family

Henry snr appears to have died in 1914
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FRV1-VPB
however his will was granted in Kilkenny 4th Sep 1920 to his executor John May, it most likely did not survive the Custom house fire.
Bottom right here
