topic split into two and can't find response
« on: Saturday 22 August 15 11:07 BST (UK) »
I received and email notification that a topic I had started had been split into two by the moderator. I then received a notification of a response to that topic, but when I clicked on the link to the response, it only took me to the original topic that I posted with no response there from the new person who replied. (Hope that makes sense).

How do I find the new topic?  I hate to think someone has tried to help with my query and I haven't been able to respond to at least say thank you.  :-[

Hi Maddys,

can you tell us what the original topic was ?
You can see all your topics here:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=232927

That will help us to find the new topic :)

Bob

OK, I've found it.

A spammer had replied on your topic. You automatically received a notification, but by the time you looked at the topic a moderator had already removed (split off) his ######* contribution.  So you saw nothing, but there was also nothing you needed to reply to :)
(and certainly nothing you needed to say 'thank you' for   ;D )

Regards,
Bob

Oh thank you so much Bob, but I hate to think of a spammer having access to our beautiful family history  >:(

So glad the moderators are on top of the situation and much quicker off the mark than I am!

Thanks again.
