Louth petty sessions court registers
« on: Saturday 22 August 15 16:22 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I have noticed that family search now hold court records for Louth, with links to a commercial site. I wondered whether anyone can tell me what each record, on that second site, contains? I particularly want to know how the defendants are identified, date of birth, address etc. I also noticed that there are several courts in Louth, so I would be grateful for any information on that. Thank you.

Hi Alex,

The information contained in the Petty Sessions Order Books to help identify the defendant includes the address of the individual which is written beneath their name.

Other info includes; Date of Order, complainant, defendant, witnesses, Cause of Complaint, Particulars of Order or Dismissal.

Hope this of some help.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have an ancestor with a fairly common name, and there seems to be a lot of court records for that name. I am sure the address will help me to determine whether any(or maybe all) of the records relate to him. Thanks again.
