Hello Phenmark,

Sorry if this is off topic, but i saw one of your posts through a Google search and I'm not sure how else to contact you.

I think we might be cousins. My father is from Borris county Carlow and is the great, great, great, great grandson of John McDonald who married Judy Coady / Codey. My father’s grand father was Thomas McDonald, the mason from Tomduff, who married Anne Kavanagh. His link to who i think is his father is a little tenuos,as the ages don't seem quite right, but my cousin worked out a family tree in the 80s that linked him to Patrick McDonald who married Elisabeth Doyle.

I was given my cousins notes, where he worked out an old family tree in the 80s (so all leg work and microfilm and no internet). This combined with some research I’ve done has filled out my branch of the tree, but I’d love the opportunity to share notes with you.

If you can direct message me and provide an email, I can start to send you what I have. (I’m guessing it won’t add much to what you already have but might confirm some things for you.)

I recall on a trip to Rathanna graveyard in the 80s when I was a small boy, we bumped into an American called John McDonald, who was researching his roots. It turned out we are cousins, so I’ve been able to sketch out his part of the tree too. I wonder, are you him? Or a relation? My dad kept in touch and gets a copy of the ‘McDonald Times’ each year.
