John Mattock in Frimley Green was there while John & Lucy were in Fulham so not your man (unless he was living a double life!)

yea  .... have read through - and agree with all thoughts as to 2nd marriage etc.. excellent..

regarding Margarets probate... she did have 8 children - only 4 survived.. Joseph. JOHN Euphemia and Nellie aka Helen..  she died in 1950 and her husband then remarried.

uhm  Fanny could have been telling a fib?!! regarding birth...

But it does look like that is the right 2nd marriage  :)

thank you ALL xx

YES that is definitely his 2nd Marriage -- even tho his father has changed profession..
the witnesses are significant...  His sister Euphemia married a Thomas Mahoney :)  and it could well be his mothers signature  Margaret Mattock..
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just found her 1st marriage (LUCY) maiden name Hooker  she was living in FREAN ST.  now that name is really ringing bells and you know what!  I think it is where Tommy Steele lived ??! (I am a fan bless him )  that's all just a by the way :) :)

So

collating all info..

and thinking that due to Nellie or Harriet Ellen Winter-Walkling being his ONLY off spring....

maybe I will run through info on her around the years after his 2nd wife died to see if she may
have found time to care for him or for him to visit her... so phone books and newspapers ... cant think of any other way .... electoral roll for them residing close by would be great!! xin
