Rodney Street, Clerkenwell

I have been trying to get into Rodney Street on the 1891 census using FindMyPast but am obviously doing something wrong. I have tried putting in Clerkenwell, London, Middlesex, but am getting entries for Liverpool, Swansea, etc etc.

I have them at 17 Rodney Street on the 1901 but cant find them at all on the 1891, although I have a school admission record for January 1892 giving the address of 29 Rodney Residences, which I hope is in Rodney Street.

If anyone can explain what I need to do I will be most grateful.

If you tell us who "them" are, and give the 1901 details, then we can have a look around for you for 1891.

Search for Catherine Buddle born 1863 on FindMyPast - that will get you to the right page for 29 Rodney Residences in the 1891 census

If you select the 1891 census from the A-Z of record sets (not the general census search form), then start typing and select select Clerkenwell from the drop down 'parish' box, don't just type it all in, when Clerkenwell appears as you start typing select it so that it has a x at the end of it.

If you don't select what it has chosen for you, the search doesn't work.

and then put Rodney Street in the Street box.

I got into Rodney Residences thanks to ShaunJ but no luck there.

I then went all through Rodney Street but the house numbers go from 1 to 17 and then 21 although the page numbers run. I of course want 19!

Back to the drawing board.

Dawn, as you will see from JenB's post, I was getting nowhere trying to find them by name.

I wanted to search Rodney Residences/Street as a whole in the hope they had been added to a wrong family.
