Headstone in Tomnahurich
« on: Sunday 30 August 15 18:42 BST (UK) »
I am only in Inverness for the next week, and I would love to be able to trace the headstone of my Aunt.
Christina Mackintosh, nee Fraser, died on 30 March 1983 in Haugh Court, Inverness.
Would anyone have a photo of her headstone, or be able to help me find it?

Hi there, I have listed below the contact details for Kilvean cemetery in Inverness. Last time I checked, the office there would assist people with locating a grave and may even be able to provide a map of Tomnahurich cemetery for you.

It is quite a long time since I last checked though, but at least it is a place to start. (Hopefully the contact details haven't changed. If you can't get through on this number though you can google 'Highland council' and get in touch with them and they can provide up to date contact info for the office at Kilvean.

Kind regards,
maclennan25

Thank you for that information,  maclennan25.
On my last visit to Inverness, I visited the office of the crematorium and they were able to give me burial records for other family members, but this time I am quite pushed for time as I've been up in Ullapool looking for records.

I was hoping that there might be a similar website for Tomnahurich, to 'rosscromartyroots' where photographs of headstones are uploaded.

Never mind, I shall just have to book another holiday in Inverness !!!

There is a rootschat member called Ghostwhisperer and they have a website you can search. The photos are not listed on the website but if you find the listing for the headstone you are looking for, they will send a photo of it to your email address.

Hopefully this is the website :)

Has anyone made a request from this site lately?  I just tried and keep getting the error message:
"The words you entered did not match the given text.  Please try again."
What does that mean?

I see a comments bar at the bottom of the homepage.  It contains a message reading,
"You do not have permission to add comments."

Not helpful.

If anyone can make requests via the Guestbook, would you be so kind as to submit these for me:

Tomnahurich Cemetery
1.  Alexander Dallas                               TNH 5128
2.  Isabella Gollan, AD wife                     TNH 5128
3.  Anne M Dallas, AD/IG daughter          TNH 5128
4.  Alexander McGillivray                        TNH 82
5.  Isabella Gollan, AM wife/IGD aunt      TNH 82
(I didn't find Isabella Gollan McGillivray on this website's Tomnahurich Cemetery list.  Her
obituary stated she was buried there, so I'm gambling she was interred in the same plot as
      her husband.)

Thank you for your help.

Kindest regards,
C A Quinn

I have sent them an email (and a pm on this website) so hopefully they’ll see it and something will be sorted soon.
