Cambridgeshire Wills
« on: Sunday 30 August 15 21:32 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have access to an index of Wills and Probate records proved in the following courts:

Archdeaconry Court of Ely
Archdeaconry Court of Sudbury
Peculiar of Bishop of Ely

I hope someone can help.

Matt

Hi Matt

What are you looking for?

I am just researching a few possible leads in Cambridgeshire and would like to see if the names I am looking at appear in any Will indexes.I'll post a list of surnames along with places and rough periods later.

These are some of the surnames I'm keen to know about:

Garner
Murfitt/Murfit/Murfitt/Murfit/Murfit
Waxham/Waxham
Wayman

I'll post further details later.

Matt

See http://blog.findmypast.co.uk/articles/about-british-record-society-probate-collection-1320-1858/

Thanks for that link. I've tried a search but it won't let me see any results without logging in. However the log in page doesn't appear to be working. I thought it was my password so I've tried to reset that but it's not accepting my new password and won't let me reset. I'll try re registering later to see if that helps.

Link just goes to the Newspaper search page on Findmypast whenever I try to search it.

Definitely not working. I just spent 10 mins trying to log in with no luck. I also tried to reset my password which it did not like, and even if I try to rejoin it doesn't let me get past the registration page. It keeps getting stuck on the password section.

If this dataset is on Findmypast then I should still be able to view it on the computer at the library.
