Hi Erica,
I've only just now saw this thread.
If you click on this link it will take you to the Perth Burials Registers
http://www.pkc.gov.uk/article/3887/Perth-burgh-burial-registers-1794-1855

In the wee search box simply input surname Tainsh and click 'search'.
There will be six deaths of the name Tainsh.
Catherine Tainsh is there (d.1861) as well as John Tainsh son of Alexander (d.1823).

The Perth library is closed on a Monday.
I will go there next week and look up the Sievwright books (he wrote two) as well as the pre-1855 Monumental Inscriptions of North Perthshire for info on your Tainsh family.

Lawrie name in Fife (and elsewhere) with all its various spellings.

Hi Buckhind,
Thank you for the offer to look up Sievwright's book. Hopefully my Tainsh's are listed there. Regards erica

Pre-1855 MIs

Perth Greyfriars (Block C)
299 Erected 1826 by Isabella & Margaret Tainsh, to father, mother, brothers and sister.

Sorry, that seems to be all there is.

Hi Erica,
I went to the Perth Library but unfortunately there is no additional information on the Tainsh family.
As Throth states, in the pre-1855 MI’s of North Perthshire there is only the one reference to the name Tainsh.
All it says is
Block C 299 – ed. 1826; by Isabella & Margt Tainsh, to Fa, Mo, Bros & Sis.

There is nothing on the Tainsh family in W. Sievwright’s book Greyfriars Burying Ground.
In the supplement to the book (1895) there is this.
p.59 Tainsh. placed by Isabella and Margaret Tainsh, in memory of their father and mother, and their brothers and sister. 1826.
Lawrie name in Fife (and elsewhere) with all its various spellings.
