Second from the bottom right hand page, gives William as an Engineer and Alexender as Sergeant RE

Going back to the Kildare Observer, there is a William Cockburn Inspector for the WaterWorks who had to be replaced in 1908 because he died.

The answer to your first question yes I think they would, and another child born in Ireland was Arthur born 17 Aug 1874 in Antrim the other one was John Doyle born abt 1870 but I think he may have been born in Hampshire shortly after their marriage in 1869 in Gosport Hampshire
Your next bit of information is correct this is my grandfather Alexander Cockburn and his mother Louisa Cockburn

As regards to William Cockburn inspector of the Waterworks could well be my g grandfather William Cockburn who was living at Kilbelin in 1901 and was described as an engine driver with the Royal Engineers also pensioner with the Royal Engineers he died in Kildare in 1908
