Hi Linda,
Many thanks for your response.
I have picked up the other replies, but I am starting to think the group of
musicians may not have been from Graffham, but may have been linked in some
way with the Haynes family.
Cecil Haynes was married to Edie Albery and the photos came from her album, so
I think that search may be rather difficult.
I have some other photos which have a Graffham link and when I get the hang of
thingsI will post them to this site.
My mother was a Nora Albery and lived at and probably born at The Forresters Arms
in Graffham.
My cousin was Sylvia Smith who sadly died recently in Graffham, and whom I met on several
occasions.  She was great fun.
The Albery family history which I have compiled is lodged at the Graffham archives.
If anyone has an interest in Graffham or Albery family and connections I should be
leased to hear from them.
Best wishes,
Ian Fowler

When I look at the array of instruments, I can only come to one conclusion, this is a dance hall band. The gentlemen, centre, behind the drums is holding a baton.

Hi Ian,
I don't remember Sylvia Smith but went to Graffham Primary School with a John Smith. He was my age, 67 now, and was a competent musician even at school. John played the church organ at Graffham when he grew up and I remember he was an only child whose father was not around. He was also lame in one leg. I lost touch with him at aged 11 when we went to different schools. I left Graffham in 1965 when I went to Uni. Hope this helps.
