Have you tried spelling variations?
The local accents result in some interesting spelling mutations.
Harradine (a Bedfordshire locational surname, from Harrowden) often mutates into Harding, Arding, Hadin ...
In Huntingdonshire, I've had a Hardwick mutate into Harding.
The computer may not recognize these as spelling variants, so you need to test the alternatives manually.
The name sounded familiar, so I checked what I have. I have noted an Ethel Hardwick, born 1887 (Huntingdonshire, St Neots, 1887 Q1 vol 3Bpage 296) and died in 1888 (Huntingdonshire, St Neots, 1888 Q2 volume 3B page 175), and one generation later there is a Doris May Hardwick ... so we've got both the Ethel and the May names occurring in the Huntingdonshire Hardwicks.
I'd say it's worth exploring that possibility a little further ...
